Herbal Health Care

Herbal health care is to the forefront of people's minds these days.

If you've paid any attention to mainstream news in the last year or two, you've probably noticed a growing - and alarming - problem. Standard pharmaceutical drugs can have severe side effects that aren't known about until something really bad has happened.

More often than not though, the side effects from these drugs are actually known from the start. I personally can't help laughing at some of the drug commercials on TV myself and am so pleased that I favor herbal health care

It often almost seems as if the side effects a drug causes are worse than the problem they're trying to relieve you from in the first place.

Thankfully though, there are many completely natural, safe herbs available, which are much cheaper than pharmaceutical drugs, and have little to no side effects too. Sometimes the herbs even work much better than any man-made drugs invented. Let's look at a few of these herbs you may not yet know about...

>

Fenugreek - Only the seed part of this herb is used, and it's known as a lung herb because it expels mucus and phlegm from your bronchial tubes. Fenugreek is also an excellent herb to use for migraine headaches, and it can be used to help the digestive system too.

Black Cohosh - This is an excellent herb for women particularly, because it's a natural source of estrogen. It's quite useful and much more safe for dealing with uncomfortable symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes. For non-menopausal women Black Cohosh can help regulate your menstrual flow, and when mixed with Ginger it can also reduce menstrual cramps. Note that if you develop a headache when taking Black Cohosh, that's an indication that you took too much. Reducing future doses should relieve this problem.

Black Walnut - This herb will kill and expel either internal or external parasites, including malaria parasites and tapeworms. It can also be used for herpes and impetigo, to balance sugar levels on your body, and to regulate body fluids. Since this herb also contains natural fluoride, it will also help strengthen and build tooth enamel.

Comfrey - This is an all around general use herb that can be used for almost anything. It works as a contact healer, which means it relieves pain and starts healing wounds on contact; it reduces pain and inflammation of pulled tendons; it can be used for acne and athlete's foot; it can even be used on cuts, burns, abrasions or broken bones.

Peppermint - This is a wonderful herb, which tastes fantastic as a hot or cold tea. It's possibly one of the oldest and widest known herbs for helping with stomach aches, colic and stomach bloating in either children or adults. It helps expel stomach and colon gas, reduces bloating, and generally soothes the stomach. Peppermint is also excellent as a stimulant, which can be used in place of coffee, and can even be used instead of aspirin for headaches too.
