horseradish

In reading your info on growing horseradish, you relate to horseradish and 'dock'.

What is dock and how do you tell the difference?

********************************

Dock is a weed - so far as I'm aware, it is not edible although not poisonous.

Horseradish leaves are thinner than dock leaves although very similar in appearance.

The easiest way to make sure you have horseradish is to buy it or be given it by somebody who knows they have horseradish.

The differences are very obvious if you have the two plants side by side, but not so easy to explain.

To be on the safe side, don't take anything from the wild that you don't know what it is - no amount of advice or description from experts can protect you against making a mistake.

Horseradish is very different from dock if you know what you're looking for.

Regards

Liz
