Keeping Garlic

by Ray

Are you supposed to refrigerate garlic?

I wonder if I really have to keep it in the fridge.

Does it make the fridge smell?

Keeping Garlic
by: Liz

Hi Ray

I assume that you mean just keeping an odd bulb of garlic that you buy rather than dozens of bulbs you've grown.

If you're only using it quickly, then you don't have to keep it in the fridge.

BUT it won't last as long if you keep it in a warm room. It will sprout and you will find the individual cloves are not as fat and full.

It won't smell until you peel it, so if that's the reason you don't want to refrigerate, then don't worry.

Hope that helps
