Parsley Fire!

I went to your site re. drying parsley, and used your method for the microwave. Fire, fire!

Perhaps you should tell the general public to strip the leaves?? Or, not use a paper towel??

The oil from the stem leached(sp?) onto the paper towel, and the towel caught on fire in my microwave.

Now the top portion of the oven has a nice plastic "bubble" in it, and this was w/in 5 secs. after the fire started, as I was standing in front of the oven!

H'm... thanks for that warning.

I must say, it's the first time I've heard of that - but it's a lesson to learn.

I would think that you would need to do quite small quantities and if I had considered it, I would have advised about fire.

It's never happened to me you see -normally, the parsley or whichever herb just goes brown and shrivelled, doesn't burst into flames.

I will amend the instructions referring to your experience which I thank you for sharing with us.

Regards

Liz
